What is Tayste?
Tayste is your personal food memory app. It helps you remember what you’ve ordered, rated, and loved (or not) at restaurants so you never have to guess what to order next time.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Tayste stores your notes and ratings locally on your iPhone or iPad. There is no signup required, and your data stays private.
Can I search my past meals?
Yes! You can search by restaurant name, city, or dish name to instantly find past ratings and notes.
Will I lose my data if I delete the app?
If you delete the app without backing it up, your data will be removed. If you use iCloud Backup, your data is restored when you reinstall Tayste.
Does Tayste work offline?
Yes. Because your data is stored on your device, you can use Tayste without an internet connection.
Does Tayste collect personal data?
No personal identifiers are collected. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
Can I use Tayste on multiple devices?
If you have iCloud Backup enabled, your data can sync across your devices automatically. Otherwise, data is kept locally on the device where you entered it.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?

HOW IT WORKS
- Tayste is two useful lists in one place!
- Tayste List contains your personal reviews of meals you’ve tried.
- Bucket List contains places and/or menu items you would like to try in the future.
- Navigate between them using the buttons at the bottom of the screen.
TAYSTE LIST
Create a New Review:
To create a new review in the Tayste List, simply press the “+” symbol in the top right corner of the screen. The new screen includes areas for you to enter the menu item, select multiple categories for the entry, add notes, select the restaurant, and leave a star rating. Enter as much or as little as you like. It all takes just a few seconds. You can even include a photo in the entry! Press “Save” in the top right corner of the screen when you are done.
Access, Share, Edit or Delete Reviews:
Once you have created reviews, they will appear on the Tayste List screen. To see a review, tap on the entry. Notice you can click on the restaurant address to get directions. To edit or delete a review, select the “Edit” or “Trashcan” icons at the top right corner of the screen. Also in the top right corner is the “Share” button. You can use this to share your review via email or text, etc. Press the “Back” button in the top left corner to return to the Tayste List.
Search Reviews:
You can also search the Tayste List using the search field. Search by location, food, category, restaurant, or any words which may appear in your Notes. Tayste will filter entries that match so you can quickly find the entry or entries you need. When done with the search feature, return to the complete Tayste List by tapping on the search window and then tapping on the “X”.
BUCKET LIST:
Bucket List is a place to keep track of places and meals you want to try.
Create an Entry:
To create a new entry in the Bucket List, simply press the “+” symbol in the top right corner of the screen. The new screen asks you to select the restaurant. You can even include a menu item you wish to try in the Notes section. Press “Save” in the top right of the screen when you are done.
Access, Share, Edit or Delete Entries:
Once you have created entries, they will appear on the Bucket List screen. To see a Bucket List item, simply tap on the entry. Notice you can click on the restaurant address to get directions. To edit or delete an entry, select the “Edit” or “Trashcan” icons at the top right corner of the screen. Also in the top right corner is the “Share” button. You can use this to share your entry via email or text, etc.
Press the “Back” button in the top left corner to return to the Bucket List.
Search Entries:
You can also search the Bucket List using the search field. Search by name, location or any words which may appear in your Notes. Tayste filters entries that match so you can quickly find what you need. When done with the search feature, return to the complete Bucket List by tapping on the search window and then tapping on the “X”.
Move an Entry to Tayste List:
Imagine you tried a restaurant on your Bucket List and now wish to make a Tayste List review. You can quickly move a Bucket List entry to the Tayste List by opening the location and pressing the “Move to Tayste List” button. While doing so, you can easily add a menu item, ratings, photos, etc. Press “Save” in the top right corner of the screen when you are done.
OTHER SUGGESTIONS:
Within either Tayste List or Bucket List, you can quickly delete or share an entry. Swipe left to delete and swipe right to share. Its that easy!

Tayste Pro provides additional exciting features, such as:
- Identify your favorite places.
- Filter entries.
- Tayste AI.
- Scan menus for simple entry.
- No in-app ads.
FAVORITES
Identify any entry as a favorite in the Tayste List and/or the Bucket List by clicking on the ♥️. You can do so right in the list without opening the entry. You can then filter by “Favorites” (see below).
FILTERS
To quickly find an entry of interest, use filters and/or sort. The filter menu is near the bottom of the Tayste List and Bucket List screens. You can select as many filters as you like by clicking on each one desired.
In Tayste List, you can filter by:
- All entries
- Favorites
- 4+ Stars
- Photos included in the entry
- Category
- Near Me
Bucket List filters include:
- All entries
- Favorites
- Near Me
When using the Near Me filter, you can adjust the radius filtered. In the Settings tab, scroll down to “Proximity Alerts” and choose your desired radius, then return to your filtered list.
TAYSTE AI
What are you craving? Enter it in Tayste AI and receive recommendations for restaurants. Select how far you are willing to travel with the Radius bar. You can sort the recommendations by:
- Best Match
- Name
- Rating
- Distance
SCAN MENUS
To scan a menu for easy entry, select the Scan Menu icon located next to the “+” at the top right corner of the Tayste List screen. Then, either select “Take Photo” or, if you already have a photo of the menu, “Choose from Library.” Pro-tip: The “Choose from Library” option can be very convenient when taking a screen shot of an on-line menu.
If a menu is multiple pages, select “Scan Another Menu” at the very bottom of the page and repeat the above as often as desired.
Once a menu is scanned, select the desired menu item(s) from the list and choose whether to enter into Bucket List or Tayste List. Then, locate the new entry in the selected list and, if you wish, select it to enter additional information like location, notes, ratings, etc.
